Gun sales spiked on Black Friday
FBI performed more than 129,000 background checks for gun purchases on Nov 25th, breaking previous single day record set on Black Friday of 2008 by about 30%. Retailer estimate 25% of the purchasers to be first time gun buyers and more women buying handguns.

The FBI reported over 1.5 million background checks on customers were requested by gun dealers to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System in December. Nearly 500,000 of those were in the six days before Christmas. It was the highest number ever in a single month, surpassing the previous record set in November.

Test round fired in the air ends up killing Amish girl
An Ohio man who was cleaning his muzzle-loading rifle fired a test shot in the air. He had no idea where his shot landed. Unfortunately, it landed right in the head of an Amish girl riding her horse buggy a mile away, according to the County Sheriff in Feredericksburg Ohio. The horse continued to the girl’s home pulling the buggy with the girl’s body. The man who fired the shot has come forward, no charges have been filed. Read the full story Here.
